The Heralds of the Gospel were sought by the SBT and, for more than an hour, answered the questions raised by trainee reporter John Silva. The interview was held in the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, in Caieiras, São Paulo, and was attended by Revmo. Pe. Alex Barbosa de Brito, member of the Virgo Flos Carmeli Clerical Society of Apostolic Life, and several members of the Women's Sector of the Heralds of the Gospel, as well as families and co-workers of the Association.
The reporter asks about the relevance that the values of the world have to the Heralds of the Gospel.
Watch the answer in full:
Summary
"The Catholic Church has always taught that there is a dichotomy between what is of God and what is of the world. This is not a doctrine of the Heralds, it is Catholic doctrine," he said. Alex Barbosa de Brito, EP.
And, stressing the mission of the Heralds of the Gospel, inserted into the world to make it an image of God, the Priest continued:
"This is the mission of the Church and, equally, of the Heralds. Thus, the values of the world are for the Church values as they approach God, and cease to be so the more of Him they move away from him."
Therefore, despite living in the world, "the priest is not an enemy of the world; he must lead, from the wor[os homens]ld, to God."
