In his last program, Anatomy of Power, broadcast on Sunday, November 17, 2019, by rede Vida, Prof. Ives Gandra Martins brought into the air a friendly conversation with Fr. Alex Barbosa de Brito, spiritual director of the Heralds of the Gospel association. In a very pleasant environment, the representative of the Heralds of the Gospel answered the most diverse questions asked by the Professor. Gandra, since how the Association has managed to expand to so many locations in the world, its connection with Dr. Plinio and TFP, and even how it organizes internally in its statutes and divisions.
The Ep. Alex explained in general not only the foundational genesis of the Heralds, but also his branch in the Clerical Society of Apostolic Life Virgo Flos Carmeli, the in the Regina Virginum Women's Society. Some forms of apostolate employed by the Association were also presented briefly: the Oratory Apostolate, in which 600,000 more people participate in Brazil alone; and the Fund of Mercy, which has helped 585 associations in more than 1,000 dioceses of Brazilian territory since its founding. In this way, the Heralds can exercise their work in the world, which the institution aims especially: "The church has to live in the world, sanctifying the world, consecrating the world; and that's our goal," Fr. Pe said. Alex.
For your part, prof. Ives Gandra pondered many analogies between the genesis of the Heralds with the beginning of Christianity: from its organic origin, to the persecutions that marked the period of the first martyrs.
Finally, Fr. Alex, attention to the professor's request. Ives Gandra addressed all listeners urging them to add their efforts, and saying that the biography of Our Lord written by St Luke in the Acts of the Apostles — succinct, but so complete — must also be the biography of every Christian: "Jesus of Nazareth passed through the world doing good" (cf. At 10.38).
